More than 600 people attended the two-day forum. They included business people, government officials, academics and university students. The distinguished guest of honour and keynote speaker for the first-day forum was Datin Paduka Zaleha Binti Ismail, Minister for National Unity and Social Development Malaysia (1999). The second-day forum's keynote speaker was Dr. J. Estanislao, Former Secretary of Finance The Philippines (1999). They both kindly accepted to make keynote speeches on the theme for the 3rd HYLI "Leading Dynamic Asia into the New Global Age" to show their support for the purpose of this program.
