More than 600 people attended the two-day forum. They included business people, government officials, academics and university students. The distinguished guest of honour and keynote speaker for the first-day forum was Mr. Piyaburt Cholvijarn, Vice Minister of Education, Thailand. The second-day forum's keynote speaker was Mr. Ong Keng Yong, Secretary-General of ASEAN. They both kindly accepted to make keynote speeches on the theme for the 6th HYLI "Charting a New Course for Asia" to show their support for the purpose of this program.

The forum sessions also covered panel discussions on the following three sub themes:
Identifying Asia's Engines for Economic Growth
Managing Asia's Rapid Urbanization for Social Progress
Balancing Asia's Growth and Environmental Sustainability

The young leaders actively exchanged views with Asia's distinguished leaders. At the Question & Answer sessions, lively discussions were held between the speakers, young leaders and even the audience. The invited speakers and their speeches are as follows:
